Privacy Policy
Privacy, without the mystery
Pincodo is a daily code-breaking puzzle game with optional accounts, cloud progress, friends, challenges, notifications, and a Pincodo Plus subscription. This policy explains the information processed when you use the Pincodo iOS app, website, and connected services.
Pincodo is operated by Airidas Blekaitis. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
Information we process
Account and authentication
You can play core puzzles without creating an account. If you use Sign in with Apple, Pincodo receives an Apple-issued account identifier, an authentication credential, and the display name you choose to share when Apple provides it. Pincodo stores the Apple account identifier and an Apple-issued refresh token so it can create, secure, and, if requested, revoke your Pincodo account connection. Although the app asks Apple for the standard name and email scopes, Pincodo’s service does not store your Apple email address.
Profile information
If you create an account, Pincodo stores your display name, optional username, generated friend code, selected avatar, account creation and update times, and notification preference. If you choose a profile photo, the app accesses only the image you select, crops and compresses it on-device, and uploads the resulting image.
Gameplay and progress
Pincodo processes puzzle mode, puzzle date or index, archive status, guesses and their evaluation, attempts, elapsed time, completion status, win or loss, streak-related progress, timezone, and timestamps. The web game also sends first-party events such as starting, playing, completing, and sharing a puzzle, together with the puzzle day and relevant result statistics. Signed-in progress is stored with your account so it can sync across sessions and appear in social features. Unsigned gameplay and app preferences may also be stored locally on your device or browser.
Friends and social features
When you use social features, Pincodo stores friend searches and requests, friendships, blocks, pokes, competitions, invitations, challenge participants, secret challenge codes and optional hints, challenge guesses and results, reactions, rivalry results, and related timestamps. If you report another player, Pincodo stores the reporter, reported player, category, optional details, status, and submission time so the report can be reviewed.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. Pincodo receives and stores the App Store product identifier, original and latest transaction identifiers, transaction environment, purchase and expiration dates, revocation status, and entitlement state to provide and restore Pincodo Plus. Pincodo does not receive or store your payment-card details.
Notifications
If you enable friend notifications, Pincodo stores your Apple Push Notification service device token, development or production environment, notification preference, and limited delivery records such as notification type and whether delivery succeeded. Daily reminder times are scheduled and stored on your device. Pincodo does not use notification data for advertising.
Security and service information
Pincodo processes session identifiers, request timestamps, and a cryptographic hash derived from an IP address for short-lived rate limiting and abuse prevention. Its infrastructure provider may also process standard network information, including IP address and request metadata, to route and secure traffic.
How we use information
Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:
- Deliver puzzles, save and synchronize progress, and restore your account
- Operate profiles, friends, challenges, competitions, reactions, blocks, and reports
- Send notifications you enable and measure whether they were delivered
- Verify and provide Pincodo Plus subscription benefits
- Secure accounts, enforce limits, prevent abuse, troubleshoot, and maintain the service
- Comply with legal obligations and protect users, Pincodo, and others
Where applicable under data-protection law, processing is based on performing the service you request, your consent for optional permissions such as notifications and selected photos, legitimate interests in security and service improvement, and compliance with legal obligations.
What other players can see
Your display name, username, friend code, and avatar are used to help other players find and recognize you. Friends can see your current daily mode progress, whether you won or lost, attempts, rivalry totals, and—after a result is available—the guess history shown by the app. Challenge participants can see challenge content, results, reactions, and related profile information.
Players you block cannot find you, send requests, or challenge you through the supported flows. Do not use your real device passcode, payment PIN, password, or another sensitive secret as a puzzle guess or friend-challenge code.
Sharing and service providers
Pincodo does not sell personal information and does not use your information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. Information may be shared only as needed with:
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, subscription verification, and push notifications
- Cloudflare, which provides application hosting, network security, databases, and profile-image storage
- jsDelivr, which delivers a visual-effects script used by the web game and may receive standard request information from your browser
- Other players, when you use the profile, friend, competition, or challenge features described above
- Authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and service integrity
Third-party services handle information under their own terms and privacy notices. You can review Apple’s Privacy Policy and Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Local storage and website data
The iOS app stores gameplay state, progress, streaks, tutorials viewed, appearance, reminder settings, notification state, and session credentials on your device. Deleting the app normally removes that local app data, but signed-in cloud data remains until you delete your account.
The Pincodo website uses browser local storage to preserve game state, results, streaks, archive metadata, and preferences. The web game sends guesses for server-side evaluation and records limited first-party gameplay events and aggregate performance statistics. It does not intentionally set advertising cookies or use third-party behavioral advertising analytics. Hosting, network, and content-delivery providers may process standard request and security logs when you visit.
Retention and deletion
Account, profile, social, gameplay, and subscription records are generally kept while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Expired rate-limit records are short-lived, and push-delivery logs are automatically removed after 90 days. Some records may be retained longer when reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
You can permanently delete your Pincodo account inside the app under Settings → Account → Edit profile → Delete account. This removes your cloud profile, avatar, friendships, challenge history, saved account progress, sessions, device tokens, and subscription link from Pincodo’s active systems, and asks Apple to revoke Pincodo’s Sign in with Apple token. Deleting your Pincodo account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription; subscriptions must be managed through Apple.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your display name, username, and profile image in the app
- Disable friend notifications in Pincodo or all notifications in iOS Settings
- Remove friends, block players, report inappropriate conduct, or delete your account
- Manage or cancel Pincodo Plus in your Apple Account subscription settings
- Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable
To exercise a data-protection right, email [email protected]. Identity verification may be required. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
International processing
Pincodo and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers. Mandatory privacy protections in your jurisdiction continue to apply.
Security
Pincodo uses measures such as Sign in with Apple verification, nonce validation, hashed session credentials, access controls, transport encryption, rate limits, and restricted administrative access. No electronic system is perfectly secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children’s privacy
Pincodo is not directed to children who are too young to consent to online services or data processing under the laws where they live. If you believe a child provided personal information without the required permission, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Pincodo changes or legal requirements evolve. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, providing notice in the app or service.
